An honest take on windows in the newest city we serve
Otsego is the youngest housing market on our route. The city incorporated in 1990, grew 112.4 percent between 2000 and 2010 and another 47.1 percent between 2010 and 2020, and counted 19,966 residents in the 2020 Census. The median Otsego home was built in 2008. The 2010s account for 32.3 percent of all housing units, the 2000s for 31.4 percent, and homes built since 2020 for another 12.6 percent. That is roughly three quarters of the city built in the last 25 years.
We will say what a lot of window companies will not: most Otsego homes are not due for full window replacement yet. A house built in 2015 has windows with plenty of life left. The 2000s boom homes: what is starting to fail
Nearly a third of Otsego was built during the 2000s boom, and those homes are now 15 to 25 years old.
