The 1980s boom, seen through your windows
Eden Prairie went from 6,978 people in 1970 to 16,263 in 1980, 39,311 in 1990 and 54,901 in 2000. No other city we serve has a single decade like Eden Prairie's 1980s: 33.7 percent of its 26,557 housing units were built in those ten years. Eden Prairie's permit requirement
The city's Building Inspections page is direct about it. A permit is required for "any work to the permanent weather resistive surfaces of the dwelling such as the siding, windows and roof," and for any structural alteration or repair to those items. The exemptions cover painting, wallpapering, flooring, kitchen cabinets and small detached storage sheds, none of which touch your windows. So a window replacement in Eden Prairie needs a permit from the Building Inspections Division.

Deciding between inserts and full-frame
